Vidya Prasarak Sanstha’s Vidyalay, Balkum–Thane, has been committed to delivering quality education since 1979.
Founded in 1977 by the visionary residents of Balkum, the Sanstha began with the mission of providing standard education to village students up to the secondary level. In 1979, it received approval to start a secondary school, operating initially from a modest chawl-style structure.
A major phase of development began in 2000, when Dr. Devram Bhoir assumed charge as President of Vidya Prasarak Sanstha. With the support of generous donors, he led the construction of well-equipped three-storied and two-storied school buildings, greatly enhancing the learning environment
Today, the institution has evolved into a comprehensive educational centre. The pre primary and primary sections function in close association with the secondary school, ensuring a unified academic ecosystem. In 2009, the Sanstha established the Junior College of Commerce with a small initial batch. Over time, it expanded to offer all three streams — Arts, Commerce, and Science — and now operates at full capacity.
Dr. Devram Bhoir’s vision of providing holistic education from KG to PG for students in the region is steadily becoming a reality
